Getting Started: Samples

Learn how 120Water can support your sampling efforts, how to order sampling kits and track your sampling results

120Water can support you through your PFAs Sampling, Annual Compliance Sampling, Consumer Request Sampling, Sampling tied to Inventory Notifications and Verifications, and any other sampling efforts with the Lead and Copper Rule. This allows you to have all your sampling data in the platform alongside your inventory information and communication efforts.

As you begin your sampling efforts with 120Water, you will assign all of the locations you’re sampling from into a Program. Your next step will be to then order the individual sample kits - you'll be able to track kit statuses in real time in the Kits tab.

In the samples tab, you can view all samples tied to your sampling program and the locations the samples are collected from. The 120Water ID in this tab is the unique 120Water Sample ID - this is different from the 120Water Location ID we saw in the locations tab. This ID is tied directly to the sample, not the location.
A few other important columns:
  • Status: New refers to kits that have been ordered but not yet returned. Analyzed reflects samples that have arrived at the lab and have been analyzed. Complete means the result letters have been sent.
  • Draw will show you which type of draw was completed. 1 refers to a single bottle sample kit. Another example could be 1st and 5th liter sampling.
  • Collected & Analyzed columns will show the date that each sample was collected and analyzed.
If you click into the Sample ID, you can view the current status of that sample as well as the contact information provided for that sample location. If there are any pending issues with the Chain of Custody filled out by the resident, you will see that reflected in the custom fields sections. Once any pending issues are resolved and the sample has been analyzed, you'll be able to view the results on this page and also find the full PDF analytical report from the lab in the Attachments section.
