When sending letters through PWS, each envelope needs a return address. By default, PWS uses the address listed in your account settings, but you can also create and use a custom return address if you need returned mail to go somewhere else.
How Return Addresses Work
- Default Return Address
- The default return address is the account address listed under your Account Settings in PWS.
- This ensures returned letters go to your organization, not to 120Water’s office (which was the old behavior).

- Custom Return Address
- You can create one or more custom return addresses if you want returned letters to go to a different location.
- This can be managed directly in PWS by your team — no back office request is required.

How to View or Update Your Default Return Address
- In PWS, go to Settings.

- Review your account address listed here — this is your default return address.
- If you need to change it:
- Edit the address fields as needed (for example, adding a suite or unit number).
- Click Save.

- Select the Envelopes tab under Communication Management.
- Click Create Return Address.
- A form will open with your default address pre-filled.

Key Notes
- Your default return address always comes from your Account Settings address.
- You can switch between standard and custom return addresses at any time from the Envelopes tab.
- Creating or using a custom return address does not change your account’s billing address.
- This feature is available to all customers and does not require enabling in back office.
