A Service Line is a type of asset record that can be created in the 120Water platform to track and update all the necessary inventory data. This article will cover the ways in which you can create Service Line records in your account.
In order to create a Service Line record, the associated Location record must have already been created in your 120Water account.
This article will cover the ways in which you can create Service Line records when the associated Location records have already been added to your account.
How to Create Service Line Records via Import Tool
We recommend this method for systems that have more than 100 service lines they need to record.
- Download the Service Lines template. Go to Settings > Data Management > Templates
- Export your Location records. Go to Locations and click the Export button in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
- Open your Location export. Copy the data in Column A, the 120Water Location ID.
- Open the Service Lines template. Paste the data from your Location export into Column A of the Service Lines template.
You only need to populate Columns A and D - the 120Water Location ID and the External Asset ID - in the Service Line template in order to create your Service Line records.
- The External Asset ID is a unique identifier for the asset at that location. You will need to establish an External Asset ID for each of your service lines. Many of our clients use the Meter ID as the unique identifier for each service line.
If a location in your system has more than one service line associated with that address, you will need to have a dedicated row for each service line. For example, if I need to record three service lines at one location, I would need three rows in my Service Lines template. For each of those rows, insert the 120Water Location ID tied to that address in Column A. Then, for each of those rows, input the unique External Asset ID in Column D.
Creating a Single Service Line Record
We recommend this method for systems that have less than 100 service lines they need to record.
