What do the various location and asset ID's mean in the 120Water Platform?

This article will help you understand what they all mean and how to spot the difference.

There are four different types of ID's associated with your locations and service lines. Let's take a look at what they mean.

Basic Definitions:

120Water Location ID - automatically generated when a new location is created in the platform

120Water Asset ID - automatically generated when a new asset is created in the platform

External Location ID - a unique identifier for a location provided/added by the customer (potentially from a billing file, etc.) that helps the customer recognize and search for a location

External Asset ID - a unique identifier for a service line provided/added by the customer (potentially from a billing file, etc.) that helps the customer recognize and search for a location

If you are navigating the platform and wondering why external ID's do not match, it's because there is a separate one for your location and a separate one for your service line.

They both say "External ID", but as you see, one is located on the Locations page, while the other is on the Service Lines page and they are each unique, representing different things.
