Easily update service line and location coordinates using our drag-and-drop or manually in the map or record view.
Updating Coordinates via the Service Lines Map
To update coordinates, click on the Map View within the Inventory tab. Once you've clicked on the service line you'd like to update, click the "Edit Coordinates" button.
There are two ways to update coordinates:
- Manual Entry – Users can enter latitude and longitude values manually. This is useful when updating coordinates for locations that are far off, such as in the middle of the ocean or significantly misplaced.
- Drag-and-Drop – You can simply drag the location pin to the correct spot. Once you've placed it in the correct location, click "Update Coordinates." The new coordinates are now saved.
Updating coordinates to accurately reflect your locations is critical to allow your locations to be displayed properly in your PWS Pubic Transparency Dashboard and in your State Transparency Dashboard.
Important Note: These updates will be made to the location coordinates. Asset coordinates will need to be updated separately.
Updating Coordinates from the Record View
Coordinates can also be updated from the record itself. This applies to:
- Specific Assets (found in the "Assets" tab)
- Locations
For example, if we need to refine the location even further, we can zoom in and reposition the marker more precisely. Once updated, the changes take effect immediately.
