How to Create and Use Segments in PWS Insights

Segments in PWS Insights let you group water systems by specific characteristics so you can easily filter dashboards, export targeted data, and analyze subsets of your inventory.

 

 

Step 1: Create a New Segment

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Segments tab.

  3. Click Add a New Segment.

  4. Name your segment (e.g., "Systems That Have Lead").

  5. Optionally, you can immediately add specific utilities to the segment if you know them.

Once created, you can always add more systems later.

Step 2: Add Systems to a Segment

  1. Go to the Utilities tab.

  2. Sort or filter the table to find the systems you want to group (e.g., by material classification).

  3. Select the relevant water systems.

  4. Click Add Segment and choose the segment you created.

Your selected systems are now part of that segment.

Step 3: Filter Dashboards Using Segments

Head to your Dashboard tab, where you can filter all displayed metrics and charts by the segments you've created. This helps you focus only on specific groups of water systems—like those with lead, unknowns, or split ownership.
