How to Deep Dive into a Specific Water System
PWS Insights offers an in-depth look into individual water systems so you can better understand their data, compliance status, and activity history. Here's how to dive deeper into any utility’s profile:
Step 1: Navigate to the Utilities Tab
Start by going to the Utilities tab in PWS Insights. This is where all water systems in your jurisdiction are listed.
Step 2: Open a Water System Profile
Click on the water system you wish to review. This will open their Facility Profile, a centralized view with valuable details, including:
-
Utility Information: Overview of the system.
-
SIDWIS Data: Pulled automatically from the EPA’s database.
-
Contact Info: Handy if you need to reach someone at the utility.
-
Geographic Map: Visualize the system’s location and boundaries.
-
Inventory Overview: For example, if a system has all non-lead lines, you’ll see that summarized here.
Step 3: Leave Notes for Reference
You can add notes directly in the profile for personal or team use:
-
Highlight issues like mismatched service connection counts.
-
Document observations (e.g., “All Non-Lead Inventory – No further action needed”).
-
Notes are saved in the profile for future reference.
Step 4: Jump into the PWS Platform
Want to see more? Click Login to this PWS to access that utility’s account in the 120Water PWS platform. From there, you can:
-
View and manage service line inventory
-
Review sampling program data
-
Track communication records
Step 5: Return to Insights
When you're done reviewing, click Back to Insights. You’ll land right back in that utility’s profile. From there, return to the Utilities tab to keep working through your list.
